Kebbi Emirate capital Birnin Kebbi on Sokoto River, founded 1515 by Muhammadu Kanta the Great after defeating Songhai at Zabarma. 9 km laterite walls with ditch, Kanta's palace mound and Argungu fishing festival legacy ( relocated after Gwandu conquest 1831).
