South watchtower of Boreum harbour chain guarding Syrtic salt pans, this 12×12 m square burgus with 2 m rubble core, outer ditch (V, 2 m), and salt-pan causeway (1 km to sebkha) protected salt caravan route to Augila oasis. Pottery: Tripolitanian amphora Keay 25. Byzantine cross graffito. Part of Justinianic limes.
