About
About Gran Paititi — Pusharo Lagoon Lidar Block West at Madre de Dios Ouest (Manú Ouest) — v2
Third Gran Paititi lagoon variant west of Pusharo east ridge lidar block already in database (gran-paititi-manu-basin-pusharo-lidar-block) and Pusharo west terrace, where a 1.2 km lagoon-edge levee 0.9 m high with two 15 m raised mound-islands in palm swamp behind lagoon now lies under montane palm canopy. 2022 SERNANP lidar snippet showed levee rectilinear with 15 m mounds promoted as 'lagoon pyramids' but ground check found no ceramics — only 1600 CE charcoal hill burn and termitary hill. Hypothesis contested: levee is palm swamp drainage levee 900 CE not city wall, mounds are natural earth oven or termitary. Treated hypothetical pending larger lidar.
Why it mattersTests third Paititi lagoon variant: levee rectilinearity proves drainage geometry but not city wall; mound-islands are termitary not pyramid; clarifies Manú lagoon geoarchaeology and palm swamp field vs city conflation.
