About Hampi Vittala Temple Complex
Vittala Temple (1513 under Krishnadevaraya) – Vijayanagara's sculptural apex: Garuda stone chariot (temple car shrine), 56 musical pillars (Saregama columns emitting seven notes), 3-tower gopuram, 100-pillared ranga mandapa with zodiac. Dedicated to Vittala (Vishnu), its micro-carved friezes and elephant-balustrade ranks it UNESCO's largest inscribed enclosure (1565 sacque).
