Ilısu buffer hamlet-mound (EBA c.2800 BCE → MBA → LBA Mitanni → Assyrian Iron) — Excavated 2003–2010 Nicola Laneri (Istituto Universitario Orientale Napoli / Bologna) revealing exceptional LBA ritual architecture: Late Bronze pillared hall with central platform (cult installations), sounding bell ritual ceramics, and EBA kura-araxes village beneath. Bridges northern Jazira ritual to Upper Tigris. MBA Mittani cylinder seals and Assyrian Iron pits above. Now mesa terrace over reservoir buffer.
Why it mattersOnly Upper Tigris LBA purpose-built cult hall with continuous EB→Iron stratigraphy — Mitanni ritual at periphery equivalent to Nuzi.
