Most important Viking Age runestone in Sweden standing in original grave-field context near Karlevi village, west coast of Öland: 1.4 m high limestone runestone (Öl 1, c.1000 CE) with oldest full skaldic stanza (drottkvætt meter) commemorating war-chief Sibbe Foldarsson, plus adjacent stone ship setting, 12 m diameter grave mound and Iron Age grave field. Combines Late Iron Age megalithic ship tradition with Christian-era runic poetry transition. Located 10 km south of Öland Bridge along Kalmar Sound.
