About Korgantas South Ridge Satellite Kurgan (Korgantas South Ridge Cluster)
2 km southwest of main Korgantas chain, Karaganda, on Karkaraly south ridge sandstone crest 890 m. 2 m high with 2022 Korgantas period 380 BCE transition burial: shallow pit with side-niche catacomb (Korgantas niche) + Tasmola tradition horse gear. Each satellite has small ‘antenna’ earthen causeways 18 m off mound (Korgantas antennae 100 m in other areas reduced aquí). Main mound KGS-04 (28 m) had bronze cauldron 32 cm with Ibex handles and gold torque fragment.
Ridge is watershed between Nura and Taldy basins — explaining south off-shoot as Nura-side sentinels. Dated 380 BCE Korgantas phase transitional Saka to Hun. Threatened by Karkaraly quarry 2 km.
Why it mattersOnly Nura-side Korgantas watershed sentinels with antennae causeway mini-variant and side-niche transition.
