Lovelock Cave in Nevada, United States is a Lovelock Culture (2500 BCE – 1830 CE) cave attributed to Lovelock / Paiute-Shoshone culture. Churchill County tufa cave famous for 1911 guano mining discovery of 11,000-year duck decoys, atlatls, 1,000-year-old burials, and Lovelock giant legend. Heizer excavations 1930s–70s. Systematic excavation and published survey document stratified deposits, architectural phasing and georeferenced plans. Built Natural – occupation 2500 BCE onward; purpose: Guano cave cache, burial and ceremonial shelter. Significance includes multi-phase occupation and landscape setting at 1200 m elevation.
