About Nether Largie South Cairn
Oldest monument in Kilmartin Glen's linear cemetery, a Neolithic chambered cairn built c.3800–3700 BCE near Nether Largie farm. The trapezoidal cairn 40 m long contains a 5 m chambered tomb with slab partitions and a forecourt. Later Bronze Age cists inserted. Its alignment sets the NE–SW axis for the entire glen's cemetery procession of cairns and standing stones.
