About Pacatnamú — Pyramid Complex of the Jequetepeque Valley (La Libertad, Peru)
Huge coastal Moche–Lambayeque pyramid and fortress city perched on bluff above Jequetepeque delta (500 BCE–1370 CE continuous). Complex holds 15 major adobe pyramids (10–20 m high, base 50–80 m) including Huaca Mayor truncated pyramid (30 m high, 90x80 m), 50+ tombs and defensive walls. Gallinazo foundations, Moche V high elite tombs with copper, Lambayeque (Sicán) rebuild, Chimú annex and Inca shrine overlay show 2000-year layering. Heinrich Ubbelohde-Doering 1950s then Christopher Donnan UCLA since 1983.
