About
About Pedra do Ingá – Ingá Stone Enigma
24 m long gneiss boulder (3 m high) covered 400+ petroglyphs – spirals, 'molecular' motifs, vulvas, footprints, possible Orion mapping – dated controversially 2k–6k BCE but never stratigraphically; amateur Ludwig Schwennhagen 1928 claimed Phoenician, Hittite etc. inscriptions validating long-distance contact (now pseudo). Mário Pedrosa modern stellar alignment claims (Orion 3000 BCE) + ancient technology energy machine claims fringe. Primary archaeology: Itacoatiara tradition (Brazilian rock art) funerary/fertility ritual, not writing. Yet fringe cites as 'Brazilian Rosetta with star maps and lost tech'.
Why it mattersLargest lowland South American petroglyph panel; UNESCO tentative; Itacoatiara tradition cornerstone despite fringe appropriations.
