Caesar's 46 BCE African base harbour opposite Thapsus, with Punic quay slabs at –1 to –2 m in Monastir lagoon behind the 6-km Hellenistic city wall. Ruspina (Punic Ruspina = 'cape') served as Caesar's supply bridgehead before Battle of Ruspina (46 BCE) vs Labienus—Hirtius narrative details mole and causeway. Roman city 70 ha with port channel 180 m mapped by Lassère and 2017 Monastir marine magnetometry showing bollards and slipway under fishing harbour.
