About Tal-i Iblis
Mound south of Bardsir (Kerman valley), excavated 1964–69 by Joseph Caldwell (Illinois). Six levels Iblis I–VI (5000–2500 BCE): Iblis I copper slag heap, II–III painted pottery and crucibles, VI Early Bronze. Key to SE Iranian metallurgy before Jiroft.
Why it mattersEarliest copper metallurgy in SE Iran (5000 BCE) — slag and crucibles at Iblis I predate Sialk, linking Kerman belt to Yahya and Shahdad.
