Acropolis temple staircase at Tell Beydar (ancient Nabada, c.2600–2350 BCE, Early Dynastic). European TEAM (Lebeau & Milano 1992-2010) excavated 32-ha walled city with palace and three temples on citadel mound 14 m high, central Temple A with stair to high terrace 30 × 20 m. Palace tablets (200+ cuneiform) record grain distribution.

Why it mattersEarliest Khabur city-state archive; reveals Nagar-Nabada rivalry.
