Upper terrace of the Dionysus sanctuary at Teos overlooking the 12,000-seat Hellenistic theatre and harbour mole, with Temenos wall of opus quadratum, altar of Dionysus 8×12 m and artists' Dionysiac guild (Technitai) inscription hall. City of the Technitai, priests of Dionysus, sacred to Ionian wine cult. Excavated 1924 French, 1980s Turkish.
