Tepe Gawra Mound — Erbil Plain in Nineveh Governorate / Kurdistan, Erbil plain, 25 km NE Mosul, Iraq is a Chalcolithic to Middle Bronze Age (5000–1500 BCE) pyramid/mound site attributed to North Mesopotamian (Halaf-Ubaid, Uruk, Akkadian) culture. The tell/mound rises markedly above the plain, with stratified mudbrick and burnt levels documenting successive rebuilds. Excavations reveal early planning, drainage and cult installations. Comprehensive stratigraphy and published sections allow detailed phasing. Systematic survey, magnetometry and radiocarbon provide chronology.
