South suburb beyond the Severan arch of Cuicul, this 12 ha extramural quarter reveals street grid continuation (cardo south), extra-mural baths (hypocaust 300 m² mosaic of Africa), fullery (12 basins), Christian funerary basilica with sarcophagus lid bearing chi-rho, and suburb necropolis (250 tombs). Linked to intra-mural city by paved causeway over Rhumel ravine. Shows Cuicul's unplanned sprawl beyond walls.
