Idanre Hills (Oke Idanre) is the hilltop abandoned Yoruba city 680 m above sea on Inselberg 3 km N of Idanre town, occupied 11th–1928 c. 800×200 m walled settlement with Owa Palace, shrine, market, 660 steps, and 3,000 m old town wall enclosing 6 ha. Hilltop palace and shrine preserve Yoruba cosmology — Agbooogun footprint, unreadable writing marks. Annual Mare Festival. UNESCO tentative 2007 (criteria iii, iv, v). Relocated downhill 1928 for British road.
