Polish coronation hill (228 m limestone) above Vistula, Krakow's acropolis: Paleolithic settlement, 8th-c Wisłanie hillfort, 970 Felix-Adauctus rotunda (oldest Polish church fragment), Romanesque Wawel Cathedral (Boleslaus coronation 1320) and Royal Castle. Piast then Jagiellon coronation site, Dragoon cave Smocza Jama below. UNESCO 1978. Excavated since 1903, model for Polish archaeology.
