UNESCO World Heritage striped flint mining complex near Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, with over 4000 shafts (3900–1600 BCE) extracting distinctive banded Jurassic flint. Shafts up to 9 m deep with galleries illustrate Neolithic mining technology; flint was traded widely across central Europe for polished axes. The Krzemionki Museum preserves underground galleries and reconstruction of Neolithic mining landscapes.
