About Pyramid of Sinki
Small step pyramid at Sinki 5 km south of Abydos (ancient Abdju), Huni provincial series c. 2630 BCE. Limestone rubble 18.20 m base, 3 steps to 4 m preserved (est. 11 m originally), southernmost Upper Egyptian example before Aswan cluster. Positioned on desert edge overlooking Abydos sacred necropolis of early kings. Excavated by unknown early 1900s, documented by Weill, Kaiser.
Why it mattersAbydos proximity ties provincial pyramid network to sacred ancestor necropolis; southern Upper Egyptian string shows spacing ~30–50 km.
