Varvarovka (Varvarovca) — cluster of Cucuteni-Trypillia C1 settlements Varvarovka VIII and XV (c.3800–3500 BCE, 5–10 ha each) on Southern Bug right bank at Varvarovka village, Mykolaiv NW suburb, Bug estuary terrace. Key late Trypillia southern Bug group (Varvarovka VIII 3950–3650 cal BC Bln-2480 4990±60 BP) with copper imports, painted ware degeneration, steppe Usatovo and Cernavodă contacts. Distribution map core site within Trypillia colonisation southward (list #8–9). Houses wattle-and-daub with chalk-tempered ware, figurines. Links Bug estuary to Black Sea steppe.
