Wiracochapampa in La Libertad, Peru is a Middle Horizon (600 – 800 CE) ancient city attributed to Wari (Huari) culture. Topic 1979: Wari 66 km north of Wari capital; 100+ orthogonal rooms, abandoned before roof, highland Wari control. Systematic excavation and published survey document stratified deposits, architectural phasing and georeferenced plans. Built c.600 CE, unfinished; purpose: Unfinished Wari administrative colony and orthogonal city on high puna. Significance includes multi-phase occupation and landscape setting at 3000 m elevation.
