CE large 180×150 m rectangular fortress with 11 bastions and palace on 100 m hill), Ayaz Kala 2 (6–8 c. CE fortified palace with 40-room garrison), and Ayaz Kala 3 (walled town 5 ha). Part of Ellikqala Fifty Fortresses chain protecting Khorezm's north-eastern desert frontier and Kushan trade route, excavated Tolstov 1939–40 and Livshits. Mudbrick architecture with corbelled vaults; yurt site at foot shows nomad–sedentary interface.

Why it mattersClassic Khorezm frontier fortress type — demonstrates Sogdian–Kangju desert limes; yurt interface proves sedentary–nomad coexistence model.
