Chenini is the hilltop Berber ksar 550 m on Djebel Dahar ridge 18 km W of Tataouine with troglodyte ghorfas (vaulted granary cells) stacked 4 stories on hill spur, white mosque and olive press. Occupied 12th c to present (about 500 Berbers still live in ksar and troglodyte houses). 40 ghorfas with 4 m vaults, ksar 100 m long ridge. Star Wars filmed Tataouine desert. Living agro-pastoral ksar with seasonal transhumance to Tell. UNESCO tentative Ksours de Tunisie 2020.
