About Hârşova Insula Settlement — Danube Lower Settlement

Hârşova Insula is the 2.5 ha Danube island lower settlement below the 4 ha Hârşova tell (Carsium) excavated by Dragomir Popovici and French-Romanian team (1993–). Hamangia to Gumelniţa (5500–4000 BCE) + Cernavodă III to Gumelniţa lagoon occupations; lower insula holds Boian–Gumelniţa fisher cabins with net sinkers, copper hooks, and Danube shell middens. Main tell is 12 m Boian-Vinča to Cernavodă with Hallstatt and Roman Carsium overburden.
