Lagoon harbour of Kimmerikon below Opuk Mountain (ancient Mount Cimmericus), where the Bosporan fortress harbour now lies 1–2 m waterlogged behind Koyashskoye pink lake lagoon spit south of Kerch. 5 m mapped 2004–2018 Opuk Reserve diving and cliff survey. Founded as 5th c. BCE Kimmerian fortress to guard Theodosian Straits, Kimmerikon was Bosporan south-west watch until 370 CE. Fortress held Bosporan signal fire on Opuk 185 m. Lagoon spit now separates Koyashskoye hypersaline pink lagoon from Black Sea.
