About Gorgippia — Central Harbour Quarter in Anapa Bay
Central harbour quarter of Gorgippia, 4th c. BCE–3rd c. 0 m sea-level rise and Anapa river delta shift. 1 m depth — buried under sterile beach sand after the 3rd c. CE Heruli sack. The Anapa Archaeological Reserve's 2020–2021 underwater survey traced the quarter 60 m offshore, linking it to the onshore 'museum under Anapa' street grid. Hellenistic necropolis kurgans immediately south contain the painted 'Gorgippia crypt' frescoes.
